Overview
As a performance artist, Andy draws on his background in music, including the Suzuki method in piano, and voice training, to inform the ever-so-important essence of temporal dynamics. His movement influences include aerial dance, body-weather training, contact improv, movement anatomy, yoga, climbing, parkour, physical theatre, action theatre, and laban analysis. Past performance projects include “Flight of the Pianist” (2011) a solo aerial performance on a suspended piano, “Full Disclosure Improv ™” (2010) with GRAY Performs, “Beyond Gravity” with dance-climb fusion troupe Ascendance (2009) and the Tenderswitch series (2010-2011) with the other-world creating PYTHIA Dance of Oakland CA. He is now in the process of creating a new solo show titled “Night of the Ninja 1: The Kitchen Dances”.
